R.I.P. Tony Scott

Sad to hear of the death of Tony Scott at the age of 68. He committed suicide after finding out he had incurable brain cancer.

There are films of Tony Scott I really, really love. The two films of his I adore are TRUE ROMANCE and THE LAST BOY SCOUT and it says a lot about his talent they he never was considered in Ridley Scott's shadow (who as made more critically acclaimed films then him). I also enjoyed films like Top Gun, Enemy Of The State and The Hunger, but there was often still enough to enjoy in his lesser work.

Ernest Borgnine R.I.P.

I am truly saddened to hear about the death of the legendary Ernest Borgnine, who appeared in movies such as Marty, The Poseidon Adventure, The Wild Bunch, From Here To Eternity and The Dirty Dozen.

In 2009 (18th of April to be precise) I had the pleasure of meeting Ernest Borgnine. He was very friendly, and I even remember him earlier in the day before I met him walking down the line to get into the event saying hello and morning to everybody. When I met him I was in awe because I had never met anybody whose career went that far back and still stayed consistently great, but he very friendly and put me at ease.

Here is a picture of me and him below...

Davy Jones R.I.P.

Davy Jones has passed away of an heart attack aged 66. I believe The Monkees where underrated in what they contributed to music and they did many a great song. You'll be missed Davy!
