DVD Update (31/07/2011 - 13/08/2011)

Welcome to another DVD update from what has been added to my collection the past two weeks. Anyway let's get straight on with it complete with guest commentator Harry Knowles talking about Over The Top and Paradise Alley* -

Gulliver's Travels - 1996 Easter Mini-Series funded (partly) by Channel 4, really loved it when I first saw it back then and have been eager to get this for a few years on DVD. I like the performance of Ted Danson here.

Happiness - Fan of Todd Solondz work and this doesn't disappoint. This and Welcome To The Dollhouse, where my gateways into the work of Solondz, I don't think he's doing better since these two though. This is comedy as pitch black as you get.

Superstar
The Office Seasons 1, 2 and 3

Over The Top - The FILM I got to meet SYLVESTER STALLONE and we became BEST FRIENDS and he took notes from here and he used them in ROCKY BALBOA and RAMBO some twenty five years later.

Manic - Joseph Gordon Levitt was still just about Harry on 3rd Rock, when this movie was first shown (Sundance 2001) and this was a great clue to what sort of interesting career he would have after he stopped being an alien.

Married To The Mob
The Chuck Norris Collection
101 Dalmatians - Platinum Edition

Exit The Dragon, Enter The Tiger - already own this as Bruce Lee - The Star of Stars in a Bruceploitation box-set which is in it's original Mandarin with English subtitles which sounds ace --- problem is because of aspect ratio and the lighting on a screen a lot of the movie is hard to read so that's the reason I went for this dubbed (I'm still keeping the other).

The Man In The Moon
Larger Than Life
A Prairie Home Companion
The Running Man
Duel
Sleepless In Seattle
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
Drive

The Green Hornet - The first movie I brought from 2011 goes to this movie

Paradise Alley - future BEST FRIEND Sylvester Stallone in a wrestling movie featuring actual wrestlers,  ROB told me he was actually surprised I wasn't more familiar with this movie being the big ol' wrestling geek that he is.

Nighthawks
Junior

Cop Out - The first film from Kevin Smith that he didn't write and it's feel the least like a Kevin Smith film then anything he's done previously. The major problem I had with this movie and for a cop movie is the fact the stakes where not nigh enough the macguffin of a valuable baseball card really wasn't enough.

The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension - Special Edition
The Land Before Time/Land Before Time 2
Cujo
Children Of The Corn Trilogy
The Lords Of Flatbush
Storytelling
Grosse Pointe - Complete Series
TV Funhouse - Complete Series
The Upright Citizen's Brigade Season 2
Dreamcatcher

The Muppets Take Manhattan - my favourite of the Muppets movies, if even their is not a song on the level of The Muppet Movie's Rainbow Connection or Can You Picture That?

Sweet Liberty

*not really Harry Knowles
